Many people in the eastern United States are very familiar with the Wawa chain of stores. They would get their gas there, coffee, sandwiches, juices, and much more at their favorite convenience store. Having a Wawa credit card made it even easier just to be able to charge it all and not have to worry about carrying any cash with them.
The Wawa Credit Card No Longer Exists
The Wawa credit card made a convenience market even more convenient – until the bank that provided the card would no longer support it. Chase credit card services put an end to the credit card some time in the fall of 2010. This left a lot of people missing out on some of the conveniences that they enjoyed previously.
Getting A Good New Credit Card Requires Shopping Around
In order to continue enjoying the convenience of having a credit card to use at Wawa, there are many options. Obviously, not all credit cards are equal and you may want to look around some in order to find the best deal. Some gas credit cards may enable you to get as much as five percent rebate on all your gas purchases, although three percent is more common.
Not All Gas Credit Cards Are Equal
You should also be aware that some gas credit cards vary in where you can use them. For instance, a brand name gas card will most likely either only give you a rebate for gas when you buy from one of their gas stations, or it will let you get a smaller rebate for gas purchased at gas stations from other companies. The best kind of gas credit card is one that will give you the same percentage of rebate – no matter where you buy your gas.
Look for Best Rewards on New Gas Cards
Some gas credit cards will also give you the option as to how you can use your rebate. You may be able to use it to buy merchandise, buy travel tickets or hotel rooms, get special adventures, or possibly even use it to pay down your credit card bill.
Gas credit cards may also let you make balance transfers, too. This could enable you to get a better interest rate on your credit card debt – for up to one year (or even longer in some cases). It is possible to get zero interest on amounts transferred, although you may have to pay a fee of three percent or more to make the transfer.
Get A Credit Card That Will Let You Buy Anywhere
Driver’s credit cards may also make it possible to get rebates or cashback on your other purchases, too. If they have a MasterCard or Visa logo on them, then you can use them just about anywhere and continue to earn cashback. You are not limited in where you can use them, and you will not need to carry several credit cards with you when you go shopping.
Other credit cards will also give you cashback for purchases you make at a grocery store and at a pharmacy. With some cards, a special percentage is often applied only for the length of an Introductory Offer. With better cards, however, this percentage of cashback or rebate applies as long as you keep using the credit card.
With most gas cards, you get online access to all of your account information. You can see how much of a rebate is coming your way, see recent transactions, print out your monthly statement, or even make a payment. It can’t get much better than that.
