Special Deals on Credit Cards for the Holidays
by Cecil Dellison

Shopping for your loved ones does not have to be what it has been in the past – a constant rush and having to put up with the crowds and long lines. There is a way around it – especially with one of these credit cards that will also let you save money on some special deals, too.

American Express Credit Card Deals

The American Express credit card company has made deals with a number of merchants to be able to offer to their card holders some really nice deals. If you have an American Express credit card – or get a new one – you are eligible to participate in the special offers.

Their program, which starts on Black Friday and lasts until December 16th, is called the Daily Wish. There are some really good deals, and some of them will enable card owners to get hundreds of dollars off of the retail value on things like electronics, cars, and much more, or at various retail stores. Merchants are only selling a limited number of each special deal on one day only – from now through the 16th. This really is an occasion you do not want to miss to be able to get a great gift for that loved one at a tremendous price.

Special Deals for the Chase Credit Cards

If you own one of Chase’s credit cards that lets you earn Ultimate Rewards, then you are in for a special treat over the shopping days before Christmas. Starting on November 14th and running through December 20th, there are some real good reasons why you would want to trade in some of those points you have been accumulating. For every 5,000 points that you redeem, Chase will send you a free $10 gift card from Best Buy. Trading in 10,000 points will enable you to get a $25 Gift Card from Best Buy.

In addition to the points that you can redeem, Chase will give you 8 points for every dollar that you purchase on your Chase credit card in their Ultimate Rewards Mall. This special deal doesn’t last long and runs from Black Friday until November 30th.

Citi Holiday Specials

If you have a CitiCard then you can have a shot at their sweepstakes. Between now and the end of the year, you can register your card, or make a purchase and get registered automatically. This will enter you into a chance at winning a prepaid card worth between $10 and $10,000. Thousands of winners are selected very week.

Another way that CitiCard can sweeten your holidays is through its gift cards. These cards are from various retail, dining and entertainment establishments, but are going at a reduced price. These gift cards are normally redeemed at 6,000 points, but Citi is now offering them for only 5,000. This special is going on from November 15th through December 13th.

Discover Cards Christmas Rewards

Those people who have Discover credit cards are also going to have some special deals available over the holiday season. Discover started earlier than others, offering great rewards from November 11th of this year until December 31st. From their ShopDiscover Website, you can shop at more than 150 retailers and get between five- to twenty-percent Cashback Bonus.

Other purchases made with the Discover Card also receive special bonuses, too. Discover is giving a two-percent cash back bonus on all purchases, through the end of the year, and five-percent cash back on up to $300 spent in restaurants, department stores and various clothing stores.
