For those who are looking for a brand new credit card that provides card owners with some sizeable rewards, the new Capital One card is the one to look at, says Rob Carrick. The credit card has just been released and it is sure to be able to easily compete with other new cards. With its reward power, it will pay to look first at the new Capital One Aspire World MasterCard before looking anywhere else.
One of the features that really stands out on this new rewards credit card is the rewards that come with it. In fact, the benefits that it comes with – just for signing up – is sure to make it clearly the best choice.
The Capital One Aspire World credit card’s benefits start out with a hefty welcome bonus of 35,000 reward points. On top of that, owners will also receive an additional 10,000 more points on your anniversary.
As far as reward points for purchases go, you get two for every dollar that is put on the credit card. It does not matter what you buy, the ratio is the same. The ad says that 15,000 points is equal to $150, and that it can be used to purchase any kind of travel. With the earlier mentioned 45,000 points, this means that credit card owners have a total value worth $450.
The new card presents something new for the credit card industry. Lauren Ostfield of Capital One Canada says, “we wanted to do something that differentiated us. We weren’t going to put out a product that was middle of the pack.”
Looking around at other similar credit cards finds that the Capital One Aspire World MasterCard does indeed stand out ahead of the pack. If spending an average of $15,000 annually, the differences can clearly be seen. The closest card is the BMO World Elite, which would provide $285 rewards for this amount of spending. The problem is more clearly evident, though, when you find out that when booking by phone there is a fee of $49.85, and booking online has a fee of $18.95. Other credit cards limit the travel rewards to a $225 or $150 cap.
When it comes to the lasting value and worth of these points, the card owner will not need to wonder about when they expire – because they do not. In addition, there is not a concern about wasted points, either, because there are no limits on the amount of points that can be accumulated. The points can be redeemed on any airline, too, and there are no blackout dates.
Some credit cards may give owners a little more buying power than others. The problem with a couple of them, however, is that they will often place limits on the number of travel reward points that can be accumulated per year. In some cases, it may not actually be easy to transform credits into actual rides on certain types of transportation.
The Capital One Aspire World card will cost $120 in an annual fee. Along with the fee, there is insurance coverage that provides 22 days of medical coverage for travel, and loss/damage coverage for cars that are rented.
